Overview
The IT Field Technician is responsible for delivering on‑site technical support across client locations, including troubleshooting, break/fix repairs, hardware replacement, and workstation refresh activities. This role is highly client‑facing and requires strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work independently in fast‑paced service environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform troubleshooting and break/fix support for kiosks, desktops, laptops, printers, and other hardware devices.
• Diagnose and repair technical issues related to system performance, connectivity, peripherals, and general hardware failures.
• Execute PC refresh activities, including device imaging, setup, configuration, and end‑user migration.
• Install, replace, and configure components such as hard drives, memory, monitors, and other workstation hardware.
• Provide onsite support within service centers and customer locations, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
• Communicate effectively with clients, demonstrating professionalism, patience, and strong customer‑service skills.
• Adhere to company standards for appearance, conduct, and service delivery while representing the organization onsite.
• Escalate complex issues as needed to higher‑level support teams.
Required Qualifications
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing kiosks, laptops, desktops, and related hardware.
• Experience performing PC refresh or hardware upgrade projects.
• Strong customer-service skills with the ability to interact professionally with end users, managers, and service center staff.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel between assigned locations as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
• Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and imaging tools.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and standard IT service processes.
• A+ or similar IT certifications (preferred but not required).
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Plainview, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
