Engineering Test Technician – Aerospace Systems
Pay Rate: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Full‑time | 40 hours per week
Location: Plainview, NY

Position Overview
The Engineering Test Technician is a hands‑on, technical role supporting the testing, troubleshooting, and repair of aerospace electrical systems, including temperature control and deicing units used on aircraft platforms. Approximately 50–75% of the workday will be dedicated to component‑level troubleshooting and testing.
This is an excellent opportunity for:
- Experienced Electrical Technicians with aerospace or military backgrounds, or
- Junior candidates or recent graduates with formal military electronics training or an Associate/Technology degree who are eager to grow quickly in a high‑impact engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Testing & Troubleshooting
- Perform component‑level troubleshooting, testing, and repair of electrical assemblies.
- Conduct military‑grade electronics testing using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, function generators, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits supporting temperature control and deicing systems for aerospace applications.
- Identify failures, diagnose root causes, and support corrective actions.
Technical Documentation & Compliance
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Accurately complete data sheets, test records, and inspection documentation.
- Write and document non‑conformances in accordance with internal and customer requirements.
- Follow established safety, testing, and quality standards.
Collaboration & Environment
- Work closely with engineers and fellow technicians in a fast‑paced, hands‑on lab environment.
- Support testing and development activities tied to aerospace programs.
- Maintain organized workstations and test setups.
Required Qualifications (Must‑Haves)
- 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Technician in:
- Aerospace manufacturing
- Defense industry
- Military service (active duty or reservist)
- Less than 3 years of experience combined with:
- Formal military electronics training, OR
- Associate’s or Technology degree in Electrical Engineering / Electronics
Technical Requirements
- Hands‑on experience using electrical test equipment, including:
- Oscilloscopes
- Digital multimeters
- Power supplies
- Function generators
- Strong understanding of electrical circuits, testing fundamentals, and safety protocols
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
- Strong written communication skills for technical documentation
- Ability to work full‑time (40 hours/week)
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
- BSEE or equivalent engineering degree
- Aerospace electronic system experience
- Familiarity with FAA and/or military testing standards
- Experience with component‑level repair
- Prior exposure to temperature control or deicing systems

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainview, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
