Cnc Setup Machinist

We are seeking a skilled CNC Setup Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC setup and operation, 3 and 4 axis milling (with 5 axis being a plus), and the ability to work with extremely tight tolerances. A working knowledge of interpreting blueprints and GD&T is essential.

• Operate and set up milling machines.
• Interpret blueprints and shop layouts according to company specifications.
• Utilize inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gages to perform minor quality checks.
• Document results accurately.
• Work with 10ths of an inch using GD&T metrics to maintain very tight tolerances.

• Experience in CNC setup and operation.
• Proficiency in 3 and 4 axis milling; 5 axis is a plus.
• Ability to work with extremely tight tolerances.
• Working knowledge of interpreting blueprints and GD&T.

• Basic to intermediary math skills.
• Certification or degree preferred but not necessary.
• 3-4 years of experience working on mills and/or lathes (3 and 4 axis; 5 axis is a plus).
• Troubleshooting and mechanical skills.

You will be working alongside approximately 30 other CNC Operators in a department that specializes in milling. The roles are separated by skillset between mill and lathe operators. There are positions available for both the 1st shift (7AM - 3:30PM, Monday - Friday) and 2nd shift (3PM - 1:30AM, Monday - Thursday). The 2nd shift operates on a four-day work week with 10-hour days. The dress code is business casual, but steel toe boots are required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poughkeepsie, NY.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
