Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating finish grinding machines, ensuring quality and precision in all tasks.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate finish grinding machines.
- Select specific speeds and feeds based on materials used.
- Dress grinding wheels for optimal performance.
- Conduct quality inspections of dimensions and tolerances.
- Detect any material defects and report them to the supervisor.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in grinder and surface grinding techniques.
- Experience with micrometers and calipers.
- Strong quality control skills.
- Experience in machine operation, including CNC lathe and CNC mill.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience as a Machine Operator.
- Familiarity with Surface Grinding.

Work Environment
The work environment is a production setting, primarily working alone in a climate-controlled facility. We have openings for both 1st and 2nd shifts: 1st shift operates from 5:30 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 5:30 AM to 9:30 AM on Fridays. The 2nd shift runs from 3:00 PM to 12:15 AM Monday through Thursday and 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Fridays, with the potential for longer hours if required. A 10% shift differential is offered for the 2nd shift.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Rochester, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
