Hiring Medical Office Assistants In Long Island !


Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Office Assistant to join our clinical team. The role involves supporting patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring efficient patient flow and providing essential clinical support during examinations.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient patient flow and prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
  • Conduct patient interviews to obtain chief complaints, vital signs, and allergy information, and accurately record relevant patient information.
  • Perform daily Quality Controls for all Point of Care testing and obtain specimens.
  • Assist in tracking and retrieving patient lab and diagnostic testing results.
  • Administer patient prescription renewal process under provider or RN direction.
  • Provide cross-coverage for other clinical roles when necessary.
  • Support departmental medical record audits and maintain inventories of medical supplies.
  • Clean and stock patient care rooms and maintain patient-related forms and educational materials.
  • Document patient information legibly within the appropriate MA scope and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to promote health, safety, and comfort.
  • Travel to satellite locations may be required.

Essential Skills

  • Medical assisting with 3 years of consistent experience preferred.
  • Knowledge in cardiology, patient care, phlebotomy, and internal medicine.
  • Proficiency in appointment scheduling and insurance verification.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and epic systems.
  • Competence in taking manual vitals, using holter monitors, and performing EKGs.
  • Reliable and punctual.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant Diploma required.
  • Administrative support experience and data entry skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Basic knowledge of infection control, risk management, and environment of care policies.
  • Ability to ask for clarification and assistance when needed.

Work Environment

  • Hiring for multiple offices throughout Suffolk and Nassau County!
  • Monday to Friday, with shifts either from 8 AM to 4 PM or 9 AM to 5 PM.
  • Each day includes an 8-hour shift with a half-hour unpaid lunch, totaling 7.5 paid hours per day. No weekend work is required.
