We are seeking a dedicated Microbiologist for a 2nd Shift position (Monday-Thursday, 4x10-hour shifts from 11:00 am to 9:30 pm, with a shift premium provided) who is committed to excellence and teamwork. Responsibilities- Perform various microbiological testing on finished products, raw materials, and components.
- Conduct environmental monitoring in areas with different aseptic classifications.
- Enter data and prepare various reports.
- Perform validation testing, annual testing, and handle special projects as required or requested.
- Maintain and order supplies for assigned areas.
- Sample raw materials.
- Conduct daily Water for Injection (WFI) testing.
- Perform laboratory maintenance.
- Monitor temperature charts.
- Promote a safe and harmonious work environment.
- Maintain compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and all company policies.
- Assist with special projects as required or requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in science or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- 1-3 years’ experience in a laboratory setting.
- Knowledge of contemporary laboratory practices and procedures.
- Skill in operating specialized equipment such as laboratory balances and various instrumentation.
- Proficiency in general computer functions, including Microsoft Office programs and spreadsheets.
- Ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
- Advanced safety sensitivity and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong time management skills.
- Critical thinking capabilities.
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all internal and external information and processes.
- Ability to follow personal hygiene standards and procedures according to SOP.

The role requires the ability to see and read reports, use a computer, and communicate with coworkers effectively 75-100% of the time. It involves standing, mobility between departments, and attending meetings 75-100% of the time. Climbing, stooping, or kneeling for routine tasks is required 50-74% of the time. Lifting up to 50 lbs., pulling, or pushing within the job scope is required 25-49% of the time. Handling material and equipment is necessary 75-100% of the time. The work environment is fast-paced and requires adherence to safety standards, with a professional and positive attitude.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Syracuse, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.50 - $24.50/hr.
