Job Title: Environmental Scientist

Job Description

We are seeking an entry to intermediate level Environmental Scientist or Geologist to support environmental remediation projects in Syracuse. The role involves performing phase 1 and 2 site investigations as an engineering consultant for various clients including state agencies such as OGS, DOT, and DEC. The position is with a company serving as the third-party engineer for larger firms contracted as the prime.

Responsibilities

• Conduct phase 1 and 2 environmental site investigations.
• Support environmental remediation projects.
• Perform soil and groundwater sampling.
• Manage site investigations and environmental monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with state agencies like DOT, DEC, and OGS.

Essential Skills

• Environmental degree or related field.
• 1-5 years of experience in Geology or Environmental Science.
• Experience in environmental field consulting (brownfield clean-ups, phase 1 or 2).
• Knowledge of environmental compliance and remediation.
• Familiarity with DOT, DEC, and OGS regulations.
• Understanding of geological processes and HAZWOPER certification.

• Experience with state agency work.

Work Environment

The role involves working on contaminated sites with 80% fieldwork and 20% office work in Syracuse.
