Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable skills and professional experience in the lab, particularly for new graduates. The role involves working with a growing food manufacturer, where your contributions will be crucial to our success.

Responsibilities

• Conduct product and microbiology testing.
• Perform computer data entry and maintain data records.
• Set up testing tables for daily samples and maintain sample retention.
• Test raw ingredients for quality assurance.
• Resample totes, including nonconforming and experimental products.
• Adhere to all GMPs, HAACP guidelines, and safety rules and regulations.
• Complete all individual training as outlined by the training matrix or management training schedule.
• Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor or Lab Lead.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Biology or Microbiology, though an Associate's degree is acceptable.
• Experience in a lab setting.
• Proficiency in bacteria culture and plating.
• Knowledge in quality control and assurance.
• Familiarity with wet chemistry and titration.
• Competence in data entry and inspection tasks.
• Ability to perform pipetting and diagnostic tests.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in food testing is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of laboratory safety and housekeeping standards.

Work Environment

This role is based on the 2nd shift, working from 2pm to 10:30pm. The work environment is dynamic and growth-oriented, providing an excellent opportunity for new graduates to develop their skills.
