Job Description

Join our team as a Pump Mechanic, where you will utilize your expertise in diesel engines to support preventative maintenance and mechanical work on large industrial pumps. This role requires traveling to client locations to service pumps in the field and collaborating with a dedicated team to ensure optimal performance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, particularly those found in tractors and farm equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently using specialized tools and knowledge.
• Perform regular maintenance to prevent future breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with other mechanics and electricians to repair pumps in the shop.
• Travel to client locations to perform field service work on malfunctioning equipment.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members about issues and repairs.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with diesel engines, particularly in tractors and farm equipment.
• Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related components.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
• High level of attention to detail to ensure quality repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various shop conditions.

Work Environment

Work in a 3-bay garage equipped with tools, parts, and equipment. The position includes field service work where you will travel using a company truck. The standard shift is Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with flexibility to accommodate personal needs. Overtime is available, and personal protective equipment will be provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, NY.

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $34.00/hr.
