Job Title: General Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a mechanically inclined General Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of concrete crushing machines and related heavy equipment. This role involves hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and a strong commitment to safety. We are willing to train the right, teachable candidate.
Responsibilities
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts on concrete crushing equipment
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy machinery using hoists, hand tools, and power tools
- Move and handle heavy materials and equipment (must be able to lift 70 lbs.)
- Complete tasks and projects using the necessary tools and equipment
- Perform scheduled maintenance and maintain accurate service records
- Support production and quality control efforts
- Clean up worksite and materials daily
- Travel between multiple job sites across Long Island
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure a safe work environment
- Perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications
- Mechanically inclined; willing to train the right candidate
- Must pass a drug test
- Valid driver’s license required
- Handy with tools and comfortable working in all environments
- Heavy equipment or skid steer experience is a plus
- Knowledge of concrete crushing machines is a plus
- Knowledge of wood grinders (Morbark, Hogzilla) is a plus
- Knowledge of loaders and excavators is a plus

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westbury, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
