Job Title: Washout Technician
Job Description
This role supports oil and gas operations by performing washout, tank cleaning, and general labor activities at frac locations and pump stations. You will work both day and night 12-hour shifts in an outdoor environment, handling equipment set-up and teardown, monitoring tanks, and assisting with a variety of construction-related tasks to ensure safe and efficient site operations.
Responsibilities
- Work on frac locations and remain stationed at pump stations as assigned.
- Monitor tanks throughout the shift to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Set up and take down equipment at job sites, including hoses, pumps, and related tools.
- Load, unload, and identify materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to appropriate locations according to project plans and specifications.
- Store, stack, and organize materials to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Tend to pumps and generators, including basic checks and monitoring during operation.
- Clean and prepare construction and work sites to eliminate possible hazards.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform tank cleaning and washout activities, including work in confined spaces when required and appropriately authorized.
- Support general construction and yard labor tasks as needed, such as site cleanup, basic landscaping tasks, and material handling.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment at all times.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members about job progress, safety concerns, and equipment status.
- Work extended hours, including 12-hour shifts and 75+ hours per week, and remain mentally alert for the entire shift.
- Assist equipment operators and other crew members to complete projects on schedule and in line with quality and safety standards.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- General labor experience, preferably in oil and gas, construction, or related fields.
- Knowledge of construction machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to safely load, unload, move, and stack materials, machinery, and tools.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Capability to work in confined spaces when required, following all safety protocols.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and long shifts.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on safety.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, lift materials up to 100 lbs, carry, push, pull, and perform repetitive wrist and hand movements throughout a 12-hour shift.
- Ability to maintain rapid mental coordination and remain mentally alert for the entire shift.
- Adequate vision for close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
This position is entirely field-based and outdoors, working on oil and gas sites around the clock. You will work 12-hour shifts, typically 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., on a rotating schedule of 4 days on and 4 days off, with the potential to work 12–14 hour shifts and more than 75 hours per week when required. The work involves exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, heavy equipment, and active construction and frac sites. You will regularly handle materials and equipment, operate or work near pumps and generators, and perform tasks in confined spaces when needed and properly authorized. The dress code requires practical work attire, including jeans, a work shirt, and steel-toe boots, along with any additional personal protective equipment provided or required on site. Lodging is not provided for orientation or day-to-day work, so you must be prepared to commute or arrange your own accommodations.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Cambridge, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
