Description
Lead and drive supplier quality issues to closure by coordinating cross‑functional teams, conducting audits, and implementing effective problem‑solving and prevention strategies. This role ensures supplier compliance, prevents recurrence of quality issues, and supports long‑term product and process quality across the supply base. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary quality interface with suppliers for plant‑level quality issues Lead, coordinate, and facilitate supplier quality requests, audits, and verification activities Maintain and manage supplier quality databases, tracking systems, and schedules related to issues, audits, and corrective actions Complete, analyze, and evaluate quality documentation using tools such as: 8D, PDCA, 5‑Why Layered Process Audits (LPA) Process Flow Diagrams Quality Assurance Visits (QAV) Plan and conduct analysis, inspection, and testing activities to ensure long‑term quality and recurrence prevention at the supplier level Champion continuous improvement initiatives and error‑proofing efforts within the supply base Ensure supplier compliance with IATF / ISO / TS standards and internal quality requirements Work closely with Corporate Supplier Development to maintain consistent and effective supplier communication Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, data, and manuals to determine inspection requirements and resolution paths Coordinate sorting and containment activities, both internal and external Perform on‑site supplier audits to assess capability, verify countermeasures, and support improvement activities Act as liaison between plant operations and suppliers for supplied product quality concerns Support customer needs related to supplier‑produced products, including quality issues and documentation Obtain RMAs and process supplier debits / chargebacks Review and approve mass production PPAPs from the supply base Verify internal and supplier corrective actions and countermeasures
