Job Title: QC Scientist I

Job Description

As a QC Scientist I, you will engage in bench testing including sample preparation, wet chemistry, standard weighs, and dilutions. Over time, you will receive training on High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC). You will work in both the Oral Dose Solids and Nasals departments, conducting chemical and physical analyses to support the development of manufacturable multisource pharmaceutical products. Your role will also involve providing analytical support for the release of registration materials and assisting with analytical method validation and transfer activities.



Responsibilities
  • Perform assigned analytical tasks in support of product development, registration lot release, and pre and post regulatory submission activities.
  • Conduct activities within assigned timelines and in compliance with cGXP's and company practices.
  • Follow work instructions, SOPs, and company practices.
  • Document analytical activities and results accurately, in a timely manner, ensuring data integrity.
  • Identify execution challenges of analytical methods and support troubleshooting activities.

Essential Skills
  • Experience with dilutions, sample preparation, and chemical testing.
  • Strong foundation in biochemistry and quality control.
  • Bachelor's degree in a science field (Chemistry or Biochemistry preferred).
  • Must have prior lab experience, which can be from school.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with supervision using scientific judgment and professional competency.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a lab outside of academia is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates with degrees in Biology, Microbiology, or Pharmaceutical Science will be considered if they have strong chemistry lab experience.

Work Environment

This role is set in a fast-paced environment with time spent in both the quality group and occasionally the manufacturing area. The position operates on the 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with some flexibility. After training, a 4-day, 10-hour schedule may be available.



Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, Ohio.
