Job Title: Maintenance Engineer- $25/hr
Job Description
The Maintenance Engineer is tasked with maximizing the life and value of physical assets while ensuring the highest level of service and safety for residents and guests. This role requires overseeing maintenance activities performed by a team of Community Service Technicians within an assigned area. Responsibilities extend to talent management, maintenance operations, financial management, asset management, and enhancing the resident experience. The position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 9am to 5pm, with on-call duties for emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage maintenance activities performed by Community Service Technicians.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to maintenance operations.
- Perform and supervise maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, flooring, roofing, and landscaping.
- Manage talent and provide guidance to the maintenance team.
- Oversee financial management and asset management tasks.
- Enhance the resident experience through effective maintenance services.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of five (5) years of property maintenance experience in areas such as electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, flooring, roofing, and landscaping.
- Minimum two (2) years of direct management experience or completion of a qualifying management training program.
- High-school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proficiency with electronic work order systems, computer hardware and software, and mobile devices.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of the affordable housing inspection process.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- HVAC certification.

Work is primarily conducted in apartment and common business areas, requiring the use of basic hand and power tools. The role involves interaction with various technologies and systems to carry out essential functions.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Columbus, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
