Job Title: Automation Engineering Technician
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineering Technician to join our team in the pharmaceutical industry. This role involves calibration, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of instruments, process control systems, and equipment. You will ensure adherence to regulatory requirements by applying your knowledge in automation and measurement technology, completing work on time, and identifying improvements to equipment, processes, and work instructions across business, laboratory, manufacturing, packaging, facility, and site equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform calibrations of various inspection, measurement, and test equipment according to detailed calibration work instructions.
- Record results in the Computerized Maintenance Management or Calibration Data Management System.
- Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective actions such as adjustments, component replacement, and correction factors.
- Maintain equipment reliability by troubleshooting, adjusting, repairing, and replacing components including sensors, cables, connectors, and control boards.
- Execute advanced maintenance and repair activities on equipment and systems used in manufacturing, packaging, facility, or other site areas.
- Monitor PLC or HMI program logic during certifications or troubleshooting to understand deviations from proper operation.
- Use and maintain primary, secondary, and/or working calibration standards.
- Ensure accurate and complete work order documentation.
- Identify waste, workflow interrupters, and other opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and assist with implementation.
- Identify opportunities to learn new skills and actively participate in development to enhance team performance.
- Work in a highly productive and efficient manner to increase activity completion.
- Ensure work is appropriately communicated to system operators and key partners.
Essential Skills
- Experience with calibrations, including pressure transmitters, airflow measurement, temperature pressure, and seed/process parameters.
- PLC troubleshooting, specifically Allen Bradley.
- Minimum of 2 years of electrical troubleshooting experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Electrical/Electromechanical Engineering.
- Familiarity with calibration and maintenance management systems.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety standards for workplaces.
