Job Title: Sales Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Sales Engineer to manage and grow relationships with our largest existing accounts. This role focuses on account management rather than new client acquisition, acting as a strategic partner to identify opportunities for automation and controls solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow relationships with a portfolio of major existing accounts.
  • Act as a strategic partner to clients, identifying opportunities for automation and controls solutions.
  • Demonstrate strong technical expertise in industrial automation, control systems, and plant operations.
  • Conduct plant floor assessments to uncover needs and inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to scope and propose solutions.
  • Utilize a proven background in technical sales with a consultative approach.
  • Build trust and long-term partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Drive account growth through upselling and cross-selling aligned solutions.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing accounts and building relationships in a sales role.
  • Strong technical understanding of automation and controls, with ideally 3-4 years of experience in an engineering role before transitioning into sales.
  • Outgoing, upbeat, and socially adept to quickly build strong relationships.
  • Experience in technical sales, engineering, and business development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Rockwell is essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline preferred, or equivalent experience.

Work Environment

This is a remote role, but candidates must be based in Central Ohio to facilitate local client meetings. The position involves up to 20% travel, including short trips to clients in Ohio. The work is technically challenging and impactful, involving direct engagement with clients and plant operations.

This is a Permanent position based out of Columbus, Ohio.
