Job Description

As a QC Scientist I, you will engage in bench testing and analytical support for the development of pharmaceutical products. You will conduct both chemical and physical analyses, supporting the release of registration materials for regulatory submissions. Training will be provided in both Oral Dose Solids and Nasals departments, and you will gradually gain expertise in HPLC and GC.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sample preparation, wet chemistry, standard weighing, and dilutions.
  • Conduct chemical and physical analyses in support of product development.
  • Provide analytical support for registration material release in regulatory submissions.
  • Assist in analytical method validation and transfer activities.
  • Complete assigned analytical tasks within timelines and in compliance with cGXP's and company procedures.
  • Follow work instructions, SOPs, and company practices while documenting activities accurately and timely.
  • Identify execution challenges of analytical methods and support troubleshooting activities.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science Field, preferably Chemistry or Biochemistry.
  • Experience in sample preparation, wet chemistry, and dilutions.
  • Proficiency in biochemistry, quality control, and chemical testing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Scientific judgment and professional competency with supervisory guidance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Candidates with a bg in Biology, Microbiology, or Pharmaceutical Science with strong chemistry lab experience are considered.
  • Lab experience outside of academia is strongly preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced, with activities conducted in both the quality group and occasionally the manufacturing area. The position operates on a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with some flexibility. The schedule starts as five 8-hour days and can transition to a four 10-hour day schedule after training. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
