Job Description
Apply broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices in a specific technical area to lead projects assigned by the engineering manager. Document work effectively and present results to internal cross-functional groups. Develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, and training materials to support the technical area. Work cross-functionally on projects and initiatives, applying problem-solving, SPC, and other engineering fundamentals to support investigations. Support continuous improvement initiatives, including safety and environmental improvements. Engage in technical discussions with suppliers and customers in specific technical areas of focus.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects as assigned by the engineering manager.
- Document work effectively and present results to internal cross-functional groups.
- Develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
- Work cross-functionally on projects and initiatives.
- Apply problem-solving, SPC, and other engineering fundamentals to support investigations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including safety and environmental improvements.
- Support technical discussions with suppliers and customers.
- Understand and adhere to all safety requirements, communicate identified risks to leadership, and assist in resolution.
- Complete all 5S standards to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Contribute to company culture through alignment with company values and code of conduct, maintaining a positive attitude and displaying enthusiasm for assigned tasks.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Broad knowledge of quality engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in ISO 9001, SPC, 5S, lean principles, FMEA, and quality assurance.
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis, APQP, quality control, and CAPA.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2-5 years of experience within a Quality Engineer role.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Broad knowledge of the technical focus area.
- Knowledge of structured problem solving, lean principles, and FMEA preferred.
This position involves a mix of on and off the floor work, following a 1st shift schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The work environment promotes safety, organization, and efficiency, adhering to 5S standards.
