Job Description
The Quoting Specialist is responsible for generating a bill of materials based on project plans and serves as the single point of contact for all project quotations. This role involves working closely with field sales representatives daily and occasionally engaging with external customers. The main communication methods include phone, email, and Salesforce interactions. Responsibilities include determining the proper material and supplies for projects, facilitating new project quotations, preparing quotation revisions, assisting in pricing approval, performing contact management, and distributing submittal packages or product information as requested. The Quoting Specialist will also communicate with other departments and perform administrative duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Review and assist with project layouts and plans while applying knowledge of ADS products.
- Work closely with the sales team to determine the proper materials and supplies needed for jobs.
- Build rapport with field sales representatives and provide Salesforce support.
- Develop an understanding of individual territory dynamics, including customer relationships, pricing, and competition.
- Review a Bill of Materials to extract products needed to generate a finished quote.
- Produce and deliver all quotes for the assigned sales territory.
- Prepare new projects and quotes within Salesforce, confirm accuracy with sales representatives, and send to customers.
- Modify existing quotes with different quantities, products, and customer information.
- Ensure product numbers used on Salesforce project quotes match what is requested by the sales rep or customer.
- Edit pricing on Salesforce project quotes to match the requested quoting strategy.
- Collaborate with other departments to obtain products and pricing for quotes.
- Manage the Salesforce contact list for sales representatives by adding, deleting, or updating contacts.
- Review existing quotations in Salesforce for pricing validity and update pricing through collaboration with market analysts and outside sales reps.
- Maintain confidentiality of all trade secrets and other company/customer information.
- Assist with the development of new team members.
- Follow all company procedures and policies.
- Create solutions and adhere to ADS guiding principles of honesty, professionalism, and core values.
Essential Skills
- Estimation and quoting expertise.
- Experience with bill of materials and material management.
- Proficiency in CRM software, particularly Salesforce.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of civil engineering, AutoCAD, and Civil CAD.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Construction estimating experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior quoting or estimating experience is required; civil or related experience is a plus.
- Experience using Salesforce or other CRM software is required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Degree or equivalent experience in civil CAD design is a plus.
Work Environment
This position is fully remote with all necessary equipment provided. The role is fast-paced, requiring the completion of 20-60 quotes per day. Work hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the Eastern Time Zone or 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the Central Time Zone. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hilliard, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
