About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Engineer to support, maintain, and troubleshoot mission‑critical power, cooling, and environmental systems within our enterprise data center in Etna, OH. This is an urgent need, and we are targeting professionals with hands-on, real-world experience inside a live production data center.
This position is ideal for engineers who are comfortable working directly on the data center floor—installing, maintaining, and verifying the performance of UPS systems, batteries, electrical distribution, cooling equipment, airflow systems, and environmental controls.
This is not a vendor-management or oversight-only role. We are looking for individuals who perform the technical work themselves and can respond quickly and effectively to power, cooling, and environmental events.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of UPS systems, battery strings, PDUs, RPPs, ATS units, and electrical distribution
- Conduct load testing, failover simulations, preventative maintenance, and incident response activities
- Maintain, repair, and optimize CRAC/CRAH units, in-row cooling systems, containment, and airflow management
- Monitor environmental performance through DCIM/BMS platforms and address alarms in real time
- Identify and resolve hot spots, airflow blockages, and containment failures
- Maintain accurate documentation: single-line diagrams, maintenance logs, runbooks, and asset inventories
- Install and remove power and cooling infrastructure components
- Support rack layout, equipment placement, and strategic data center planning
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a live production data center
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- UPS systems and battery technologies
- Electrical distribution and critical power systems
- CRAC/CRAH units, cooling infrastructure, and airflow management
- DCIM/BMS environmental monitoring tools
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues using tools, meters, and physical inspection—not solely dashboards
- Experience responding independently during incidents or maintenance windows
- Understanding of airflow strategies, containment, and ASHRAE thermal guidelines
- Ability to work onsite five days per week in Etna, Ohio
Not Eligible: Candidates whose experience is limited to vendor coordination, auditing, or project oversight without direct technical execution.
Why Join Us?
- Work in a mission-critical environment where your expertise directly impacts availability and reliability
- Join a high-performance team that values technical excellence and proactive operations
- Competitive pay, consistent schedule, and the opportunity to work with advanced critical infrastructure
How to Apply
We are scheduling interviews immediately. If you have deep hands-on data center experience and want to make a real impact, apply today or contact us directly for more information.
