Description
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing battery, wiring harnesses, body electronics, and interior lighting. This includes wiring harness mechanical and electrical components, relays, fuses, fuse boxes, relay modules, body/door control units, power distribution units, horns, exterior audible unit, voltage stabilizer (for idle-stop), AC inverter, battery, battery sensor, CAN Gateway, Active Mount Control, Keyless Buzzer, etc. EA1 is also responsible for the physical components of the interior lighting system (L/O and design) including but not limited to: map lights, accent lighting, and cargo lighting. Electrical Mechanical Design Engineer will include: • Design automotive wiring harnesses and circuit structures, fusing systems, battery, and body electronics. Conduct feasibility studies, cost analysis, engineering calculations, and spec development. Heavy use of CAD tools for 3D and 2D mechanical design and drawings. CAD use for electrical system schematic design. • Development of automotive wiring harnesses and circuit structures, fusing systems, battery, and body electronics. Scheduling and coordinating activities for part development including test plans, part reviews, vehicle studies, fabrication, and supplier activities. Preparation of reporting documentation for evaluations and team events. • Work closely with test engineers to understand and develop specifications, interpret test results and modify designs as needed. • Communicate effectively with purchasing, manufacturing, project teams, suppliers, etc. to negotiate design details, issue designs per project schedule/deadlines, resolve open issues, participate in project meetings and meet project team targets. • Part cost estimation and calculation. Supplier quote collaboration and negotiation. • Mentoring/training/leading of less experienced group members in all aspects of group functions

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Qualifications • Associate or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Electrical or Mechanical Engineer or related field • 3+ months of experience • Microsoft Tools • CAD Experience (CATIA preferred) - 3D/2D • Engineering drawing • Basic engineering concepts and terminology relating to mechanical statics and dynamics design, circuit analysis, electric devices • Competent in problem solving, decision making and prioritization - Ability to work with vendors - good verbal and written communication

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr.
