Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic for the 1st shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday) in Rootstown, OH. You will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on all aspects of heavy trucks and trailers. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $30 to $40.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks and trailers.
• Replace motors and engines, specifically Cummins.
• Conduct electrical repair and installation, including wire harnesses.
• Utilize 'Insite' Diagnostic Tool for diagnostics.
• Work on suspensions, brakes, axles, and tires.
• Handle heating and cooling systems.

• 5+ years of experience as a Diesel Truck and Trailer Mechanic.
• Proficiency in diesel engine diagnostics and drive train maintenance.
• Experience with Cummins engines and 'Insite' Diagnostics.
• Skill in handling drive trains and brake systems.
• Knowledge in suspension and pneumatics.
• Electrical troubleshooting expertise.
• Preventive maintenance proficiency.
• Trailer repair skills.

• Well-rounded mechanic experience with trucks, trailers, tractors, and forklifts.
• Nice to have skills: welding.
• Desirable certifications: DOT inspector and Brake Inspector certificates (not required).

Work Environment

The position is based at a corporate maintenance facility that may get hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The small facility currently has 8 mechanics on site and provides trucks and trailers for industries such as data centers and nuclear companies. The work schedule includes two 15-minute breaks and a half-hour lunch.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
