As a CNC Mill Machinist, you will set up and operate conventional and special purpose machines to fabricate metallic parts. You will apply your knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.
Responsibilities- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces as guides for subsequent machining.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as saws, mills, grinding, burning, and drilling equipment.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as required.
- Set up and operate machines on a trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings.
- Verify dimensions using measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
- Develop specifications from general descriptions and draw sketches of parts or products to resolve machining or assembly problems.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
- Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Experience in CNC machining.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, particularly with regard to grinding diameters (ID & OD) surfaces and simple shapes.
- Ability to edit programs for CNC equipment.
- Ability to follow simple written and verbal instructions.
- 1-2 years of manufacturing experience.
- Must be able to grind parts to specified tolerance.
- Experience using simple measuring devices like micrometers and depth micrometers to measure parts.
- Ability to routinely lift 50 lbs or more on a regular basis.
- Capacity to work in narrow spaces, climb, balance, stoop, and kneel.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $79040.00/yr.
