Job Title: Machine Operator | 1st & 3rd Shift | $20-21+HR
Job Description
This role operates coating machinery in a manufacturing environment, preparing materials, setting up equipment, and monitoring production to ensure high-quality coated products. The position offers two openings on 1st and 3rd shift, working a 12-hour rotating schedule, with initial training provided for 3rd shift.
Responsibilities
- Select, weigh, measure, and prepare coatings according to specifications and add them to the appropriate machines.
- Set up coating machines, including configuring settings and preparing materials, to ensure efficient and accurate production.
- Operate coating machines to apply coatings to products in accordance with production standards and customer requirements.
- Observe machine gauges, controls, and related equipment to detect defects, irregularities, or deviations from standards during production.
- Make timely adjustments to machines and processes to correct defects and maintain consistent product quality.
- Record operational data, including production quantities, settings, and any adjustments, on specified forms or documentation.
- Apply knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and manufacturing techniques to maximize efficiency and product quality.
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area on the machine floor.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers regarding production status and issues.
- Use independent judgment to make routine operational decisions that keep production running smoothly.
Essential Skills
- Proven machine operator experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to make independent decisions during routine machine operation and production activities.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and report production information clearly.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time throughout a 12-hour shift.
- Strong attention to detail when measuring, preparing coatings, and monitoring machine gauges.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and accurately complete required production forms.
Work Environment
The role is based in a typical manufacturing setting that includes a warehouse, machine floor, and production lines where coils and coated products are produced. The facility is temperature controlled and organized, with clearly defined work areas around the coating machines. The schedule follows a 12-hour rotating pattern with 1st shift running from 5:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 3rd shift from 5:45 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Employees on 3rd shift receive initial training Tuesday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for two weeks. The environment involves standing for extended periods, working around industrial machinery, and following standard manufacturing safety practices and attire appropriate for a production floor.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
