Job Title: Verification and Validation Engineer
Job Description
As a Verification and Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Verification & Validation Plan in line with program objectives and industry standards such as DO-160, DO-178/254, MIL-STD, and ARP4754. Your role will include defining verification methods and allocating them to system and component requirements, participating in requirements reviews, and ensuring traceability, clarity, and testability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Verification & Validation Plan, ensuring alignment with program objectives and industry standards.
- Define verification methods such as analysis, test, demonstration, and inspection, and allocate them to system and component requirements.
- Participate in requirements reviews to ensure traceability, clarity, and testability.
- Create detailed test procedures, test cases, and pass/fail criteria.
- Lead or support system, subsystem, and component level testing, including laboratory, bench, environmental, and integration tests.
- Coordinate with Labs/Test Engineering for test setup, instrumentation, and configuration.
- Ensure proper configuration control of test artifacts, hardware, and software.
- Analyze test data, prepare test reports, summarize findings, and document anomalies or non-conformances.
- Drive resolution of issues with engineering teams, including retest planning and verification closure.
- Maintain compliance evidence within requirement management tools such as DOORS, 3DX.
- Ensure full requirements traceability throughout the V&V lifecycle.
- Support technical reviews, including PDR, CDR, TRR, and Qualification Reviews.
- Evaluate requirement changes for V&V impact, schedule, and re-verification needs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of V&V processes, tools, and methodologies.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in verification & validation, testing, or systems engineering.
- Strong understanding of requirements-based engineering and product development cycles.
- Experience with test equipment, data acquisition systems, and lab testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with DOORS, 3DX, or equivalent requirement management tools.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, system architecture diagrams, and test data.
- Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, and technical documentation expertise.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and regulated environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with aerospace standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-704, -810, ARP4754A, ARP4761.
- Knowledge of power electronics, electrical machines, or aircraft electrical systems.
- Background in model-based system engineering (MBSE) or model-based testing techniques.
- Experience in qualification testing, design assurance, or certification-related activities.
- Familiarity with SIL/HIL environments.
Work Environment
The work environment is multidisciplinary and regulated, requiring collaboration with various engineering teams. The role involves using requirement management tools like DOORS and 3DX, as well as conducting tests in laboratory and bench settings. The position supports technical reviews and demands a high level of detail orientation and analytical skills.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Twinsburg, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.47 - $44.35/hr.
