The Lean Manufacturing Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, and sustaining effective Lean training programs that strengthen problem-solving capability, standardize best practices, and build a culture of continuous improvement across the organization. This role partners with operations, quality, engineering, and leadership teams to identify learning needs, coach Lean behaviors, and ensure employees at all levels understand and apply Lean tools in daily work.

This role partners with operations, quality, engineering, and leadership teams to identify learning needs, coach Lean behaviors, and ensure employees at all levels understand and apply Lean tools in daily work.

A Day In The Life
Training & Facilitation
- Lead new-hire Lean orientation programs.
- Deliver engaging Lean training sessions (classroom, hands-on, and on-the-floor) on topics such as 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, TPM, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving (A3, 8D), Waste Identification, and Flow/Pull systems.
- Adapt training content for various skill levels-from frontline operators to leaders.
- Develop and maintain training materials, job aids, e-learning modules, manuals, and visual work instructions.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve content based on feedback and performance metrics.
- Coach teams through Lean improvement activities, Gemba walks, and Kaizen events.
- Support cross-functional CI projects to reduce waste, improve flow, enhance quality, and increase safety.
- Partner with supervisors and managers to reinforce daily Lean practices and problem-solving routines.
- Track training participation, competency assessments, and application of Lean tools in operations.
- Provide regular reports and recommendations to leadership on training effectiveness and cultural adoption.
- Promote a Lean culture rooted in respect for people, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making.
- Serve as a change agent who inspires engagement, builds capability, and strengthens ownership of Lean principles.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field-or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence.
- Strong understanding of Lean principles, methods, and tools.
- Experience facilitating training or leading Kaizen/CI projects.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts into clear, practical instruction.
- Lean Certification (Lean Practitioner, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or higher).
- Experience in high-volume or regulated manufacturing.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Minitab, etc.).
