Job Title: Systems Engineer


Job Description

This is a surge position focused on supporting unmanned, manned, and optionally piloted aircraft platforms and unmanned ground vehicles. The role involves developing requirements, creating system design documentation, utilizing and maintaining analytical models, developing new models, and planning and conducting tests to validate requirements. The position requires cradle-to-grave experience, encompassing all phases of a project from definition and design to testing.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and document system requirements and designs for aircraft and ground vehicle platforms.
  • Utilize and maintain existing analytical models and develop new models as needed.
  • Plan and conduct tests to ensure requirements validation.
  • Engage in all phases of the project lifecycle, including definition, design, and testing.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop system requirements and architecture.

Essential Skills

  • Active U.S. Secret Government security clearance.
  • Experience in weapons requirements development and integration/testing.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Warfare/Attack Weapons (EA/EW) and Kinetic Weapons.
  • Familiarity with Stores Management System/Computer, CONOPS/Architecture Development, and Environmental Control Systems.
  • Expertise in Communications/Radios/Beyond-Line-of-Sight (BLOS) and system/subsystem design.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
  • At least 8 years of industry experience.
  • Experience in the Defense and/or Aerospace industry.
  • Proven experience with combat aircraft or unmanned combat aircraft systems (UCAS).
  • Knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) engineering environment and standards.

Work Environment

This is a long-term project with potential for permanent placement for the right candidate. The role involves travel, averaging 50% with up to 75% during testing phases. Contract positions are available in Roseville/Sacramento, CA; Round Rock, TX; Oklahoma City, OK; with remote options if necessary. Candidates should be self-directed with sharp analytical abilities and excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively in a dynamic environment.
