Actalent Services is seeking a Transmission Line Technical Manager to support our internal T&D team to work fully remote. The Transmission Line Technical Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the department, facilitating professional growth among team members, and reporting metrics and statuses to the Delivery Manager and clients. The role involves providing leadership and direction to direct reports, ensuring that all projects meet their Cost, Quality, and Timing metrics. Additionally, the manager will contribute to business growth and the execution of current work-flow.
- Oversee engineers, designers, drafters, and project coordinators.
- Provide leadership and training in Transmission Line Design and offer one-on-one mentorship and training as needed.
- Establish, monitor, and maintain quality control standards for Cost, Quality, and Timing metrics.
- Monitor and communicate project portfolio health.
- Hold teams accountable to project baselines; ensure change orders and/or revisions are addressed timely when appropriate and necessary.
- Determine client’s needs and collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth processes.
- Interface with clients on problems and inefficiencies as needed.
- Resolve problems related to invoicing, resourcing, and staffing.
- Facilitate resolutions to disagreements between clients and internal teams on processes and issues.
- Drive development and training of team members and assess potential training needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- PE certification required.
- Ten years of transmission line experience with progressive responsibilities.
- Six years of consulting experience interfacing with engineering, construction, planning, and project management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills managing large teams of diverse skill sets.
- Experience with execution, risk analysis and management, monitoring, and tracking a portfolio greater than $5M in revenue.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Desire to develop self and others: technically, professionally, and personally.
- Strong understanding and support for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- High level of personal character and integrity.
- Team player with the ability to work in a highly cross-functional and virtual environment.
- High level of experience with managing business finances.
