Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

Location: Tulsa

Job Description

We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our team. In this role, you will interpret and evaluate inspection results for welding fit-up and filler metal placement according to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. You will set up and calibrate testing equipment and perform non-destructive tests using Visual Inspection (VT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT). Additionally, you will oversee welder qualification tests and evaluate welder performance.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and evaluate inspection results for welding fit-up and filler metal placement
  • Set up and calibrate testing equipment
  • Perform non-destructive tests using VT, UT, and MT techniques
  • Identify errors or defects in products and ensure compliance with standards
  • Oversee welder qualification tests and evaluate performance
  • Conduct visual weld inspections and nondestructive inspections for acceptance or rejection

Essential Skills

  • Welding inspection and non-destructive testing experience
  • Certified Welding Inspector (AWS-CWI) certification
  • Ability to perform visual weld inspections and nondestructive inspections
  • Strong knowledge of quality inspection and blueprint interpretation

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Current AWS-CWI certification
  • MT and UT certifications (ASNT-TC-1A) preferred
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office

Work Environment

This position is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility at the Tulsa Site. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with rotating weekend overtime shared among all CWIs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
