Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of presses up to 75-ton capacity, manual lathes, and other equipment to produce deep draw formed products according to specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate a variety of presses up to 75-ton capacity.
  • Operate manual lathes and other equipment for deep draw forming.
  • Read schematics and drawings accurately.
  • Use tape measures and precision measuring hand tools to verify conformance of parts to specifications.
  • Operate press shop equipment, including specialized manual lathes, air, pedestal, and centerless grinders, and belt and disc sanders.
  • Utilize forklifts and wood saws for production processes.
  • Set up and operate Level B press shop equipment, including hydraulic presses up to 75 tons, parts washers, vibratory machines, and other cleaning equipment.
  • Operate foot shears, both manual and air.
  • Identify defects visually and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Assemble and build wood shipping containers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with machine operation and general production.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to use a tape measure accurately.
  • Experience with press brake operations.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous lead or supervisor experience for higher pay eligibility.
  • Strong soft skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Forklift operation experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albany, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
