Curry Transfer and Recycling, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety conscious Roto-Rooter Technician / Route Assistant to join the team at our hauling location in Brookings, OR.

Schedule: Monday - Friday Occasional Saturdays
Starting 7:00 am - Ending when daily assignments are complete (generally 8-10 hour days)
Year-Round Work! No Seasonal Layoffs. Home Every Night.

Competitive Compensation: Starting at $22.00-$24.00+/hour
This position includes two primary responsibilities: assisting garbage route drivers daily waste collection, including loading, lifting, and supporting route efficiency and working independently as a Roto-Rooter Technician. Roto-Rooter duties include delivering, cleaning, and servicing
portable toilets, as well as diagnosing and basic plumbing and drain maintenance for residential and commercial customers. The ideal candidate is dependable, physically able to perform manual labor, and willing to learn new skills while working both independently and as part of a team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
- Assist garbage route drivers with waste collection and route operations
- Load, unload, lift, and move waste containers and equipment
- Deliver, set up, clean, and service portable toilets (Portable toilets weigh 185lbs)
- Perform basic maintenance and restocking of portable toilet supplies
- Learn to diagnose and clear simple drain and plumbing issues
- Cleans up the area around accidental waste spills.
- Operate tools and equipment safely; Snakes, Jetter, Hydro Vac, etc.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times
- Provide courteous, professional service to customers
- Work independently and as part of a team as assigned
- Fuels vehicle daily
- Maintains the physical appearance of the equipment, including routine washing
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
- Ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times every day while on route.
- Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions.
- The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Driver's License with Clean Driving Record
- Pass Criminal Background Check and Drug Screening
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles
- Working knowledge of D.O.T. laws
- Ability to work a physically demanding job
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments in English
