Job Description
The Payroll Specialist ensures accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves handling moderately complex payroll tasks, troubleshooting issues, and supporting seamless payroll operations across departments.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for a high volume of 1300 employees across multiple states including OR, WA, and ID.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Handle payroll tax, earnings, and deductions with precision.
- Utilize UKG Pro and Ultipro for payroll processing tasks.
- Employ advanced MS Excel skills such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and conditional formatting for data analysis and reconciliation.
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve payroll-related inquiries.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to gather necessary payroll information.
- 2-4 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing.
- Proficiency in UKG Pro and Ultipro.
- Strong expertise in multi-state payroll and state tax compliance.
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly in Excel.
- Excellent initiative, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience in the insurance or healthcare industries is a plus.
- Understanding of process improvement and cross-functional processes is beneficial.

This is a Contract position based out of Hillsboro, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
