Millwright – Industrial Maintenance
Location: Portland, OR
Pay Rate: $37.87 per hour
Shift: 12‑Hour Night Shift (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
Schedule: Rotating 3/4 Schedule
Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Millwright to support industrial maintenance operations at a shingle manufacturing facility. This is a direct-hire opportunity with a well-established and stable company offering excellent long-term career potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial manufacturing equipment used in a shingle mill
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and ensure equipment reliability
- Weld and fabricate components as needed
- Follow all safety protocols and maintenance best practices
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience required
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment
Shift & Schedule Details
- 12‑hour night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
- Rotating 3-on / 4-off / 4-on / 3-off schedule
Example Rotation:
- Monday–Tuesday: On
- Wednesday–Thursday: Off
- Friday–Sunday: On
- Following Week:
- Monday–Tuesday: Off
- Wednesday–Thursday: On
- Friday–Sunday: Off
You will work 84 hours over a two-week period, with 28 hours paid at overtime.
Overtime Pay:
- Time and a half after 10 hours in a day
- Time and a half for hours worked over 40 in a week
Work Environment
- Industrial manufacturing setting
- Dusty and dirty conditions typical of shingle production
- Heavy machinery; noise levels vary by area
- PPE required: steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and hearing protection
