Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Accountant to join our team, focusing on reviewing vendor payments for accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures. This role involves ensuring correct payment processes and maintaining detailed financial records.
Responsibilities
- Review vendor payments daily for accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with policies, ensuring a 3-way match has occurred and the payment is not duplicated.
- Create monthly allocation tables for rent and utilities payments by performing queries in the Access database, verifying coding accuracy, and updating the database with any requested changes.
- Inform accounting staff when allocation tables are completed and ready for updates.
- Act as a backup to the Accounting Cycle Coordinator by monitoring the email inbox, processing accounting change orders, and managing transactions that have not cleared.
- Prepare monthly invoices and update contract and grant information as a backup to the Contracts Accountant.
- Prepare annual and final Federal Financial Reports for submittal.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in GASB 87, 96, and capital assets.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a bachelor’s degree with 32 credit hours in accounting courses.

- Initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Personable and professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with Power BI, R*STARTS or DOS accounting system, and MS Access.
- Understanding of government accounting.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.69 - $46.97/hr.
