Job Title: BIM Specialist
Job Description
The BIM Specialist will oversee the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process from team collaboration to client deliverables, ensuring adherence to project schedule, budget, and scope. This role involves managing BIM models for construction, coordinating with involved parties, and assisting in design, planning, and installation with field management. Ownership and accountability for these tasks are critical to the successful execution of commercial construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical projects with advanced facility construction clients, assigning tasks and self-performing when appropriate.
- Set priorities and monitor progress, ensuring QAQC of 3D modeling and 2D drawing deliverables align with VC Standards.
- Interpret project schedule, budget, deliverable requirements, and field requests for planning purposes.
- Coordinate closely with the prefabrication department.
- Maintain clear communication with Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Managers.
- Utilize Revit to produce shop drawings from 3D models and follow company standards for creation of shop drawings from 3D model content.
- Download drawings and information from online platforms such as SharePoint and project websites.
- Prepare copies and assemble sets of documents for transmittal to other parties.
- Collaborate effectively with Virtual Construction and Prefab team members.
- Demonstrate competent understanding of client policies and procedures.
- Turn verbal and general written directions into appropriate, working design documents.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, and AutoCAD.
- Strong experience in electrical drafting and construction document management.
- Ability to produce construction drawings and Revit MEP.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in working with advanced facility construction clients.
- Competent understanding of client policies and procedures.
Work Environment
The role is primarily office-based with strong mentorship provided. The BIM Specialist will work closely with the design team and onsite electricians, with the flexibility to work in multiple locations such as Hillsboro or the office. The position offers the opportunity to engage with top local projects in the semi-conductor industry, providing valuable experience in complex environments. Benefits include seven paid holidays and 40 hours of paid time off and sick time during a 12-month consultancy period.
