Job Title: Lead Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-driven designer who excels in SolidWorks and enjoys turning complex ideas into precise, buildable solutions. If you are passionate about creating high-quality electrical and structural designs that support critical infrastructure, this opportunity offers a meaningful impact.



Responsibilities
  • Create detailed electrical and structural designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to refine layouts and meet project goals.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain documentation and complete quality checks.
  • Contribute to process improvements and R&D initiatives.
  • Mentor junior drafters and designers.

Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of SolidWorks experience in a drafting/design capacity, including experience gained in an associate's program.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Experience with structural steel, telecommunication, power distribution, utility design, substation design, transmission line design, protection & control, civil/structural, Fusion 360, and Inventor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of drafting/design experience in utilities or engineering.
  • Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate within cross-functional teams.
  • Associate’s degree in drafting/design or related field (Bachelor’s degree is a plus).

Work Environment

The role is based in an office environment, requiring in-office presence five days a week with schedule flexibility (early start, shift times, etc.). There is a possibility for a hybrid work arrangement after an initial 90-day period based on performance, proficiency with SolidWorks, and communication skills. The team consists of nine people, promoting positivity and fostering a community environment.
