Actalent is currently seeking qualified Solidworks drafter & designers for positions in the Salem Metro Area.

We are seeking a detail-driven Designer who excels in SolidWorks and is passionate about translating complex ideas into precise, buildable solutions. Responsibilities

• Create detailed electrical and structural designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to refine layouts and meet project goals.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain documentation and support quality checks.
• Contribute to process improvements and R&D initiatives.

Essential Skills

• 1-3 years of SolidWorks experience in a drafting/design capacity, including experience gained in an associate's program.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience in structural steel, telecommunication, power distribution, utility design, substation design, transmission line design, protection & relays, civil/structural design.
• Familiarity with Fusion 360 and Inventor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1+ years of drafting/design experience in utilities or engineering, including work from an associate's degree.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to work independently and communicate within cross-functional teams.
• Associate’s degree in drafting/design or related field (Bachelor’s degree is a plus).

Work Environment

This role requires in-office work 5 days a week in Salem, OR, with schedule flexibility (early start, shift times, etc.). A possibility for hybrid work exists after an initial 90-day period based on performance.
