Job Description
Join our team as a Controller, where you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting our leadership team. This is a full-time, in-office position with a direct placement opportunity. You will engage in a two-step interview process, beginning with a virtual session and concluding with an in-person interview.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Perform account reconciliations and assist with budget and monthly close processes.
- Conduct internal audits and maintain accounts payable documentation.
- Support leadership with information requests and audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Accurately maintain the general ledger.
- Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations.
- Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and meet reporting deadlines.
- Respond to information requests and review financial statements.
- Support administrative tasks in running payroll.
Essential Skills
- 5-6 years of operational accounting experience with GAAP.
- Proficiency in journal entries and reconciliations.
- Experience with inventory accounting and ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPS and pivot tables.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous managerial experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience in the furniture, appliance, or retail industry is a plus.
- Experience with VPASS or STORIS ERP systems is advantageous.
- CPA or MBA is preferred.
- Advanced Excel user.
