Job Title: Controller


Job Description

Join our team as a Controller, where you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting our leadership team. This is a full-time, in-office position with a direct placement opportunity. You will engage in a two-step interview process, beginning with a virtual session and concluding with an in-person interview.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and reports.
  • Perform account reconciliations and assist with budget and monthly close processes.
  • Conduct internal audits and maintain accounts payable documentation.
  • Support leadership with information requests and audit processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Accurately maintain the general ledger.
  • Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations.
  • Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and meet reporting deadlines.
  • Respond to information requests and review financial statements.
  • Support administrative tasks in running payroll.

Essential Skills

  • 5-6 years of operational accounting experience with GAAP.
  • Proficiency in journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Experience with inventory accounting and ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPS and pivot tables.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous managerial experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in the furniture, appliance, or retail industry is a plus.
  • Experience with VPASS or STORIS ERP systems is advantageous.
  • CPA or MBA is preferred.
  • Advanced Excel user.
