Job Title: Plastic Fabrication and Welding Specialist
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Plastic Fabrication and Welding Specialist who can weld complex plastic parts to precise drawing specifications. This role involves working closely with customers to address queries and assist in the manufacturing of prototype opportunities. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate leadership, initiative, and a commitment to teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Weld complex plastic parts according to drawing specifications.
  • Train and mentor team members, demonstrating leadership qualities.
  • Field customer questions and provide assistance in the manufacturing of prototypes.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-departmental teams to achieve common objectives.
  • Engage in goal-directed thinking and problem-solving in non-routine situations.
  • Communicate effectively with clear and meaningful two-way communication.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.
  • Analyze and break down facts into strengths and weaknesses.
  • Adapt to changing work demands and participate in related training.
  • Work independently and manage workload under pressure.
  • Read and interpret engineered drawings and bills of materials.
  • Use various hand and electric tools safely and effectively.
  • Record job tracking and communicate issues related to work orders and machinery.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6-8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with fabrication expertise.
  • Ability to identify and weld various plastics such as WPP, NPP, PVC materials, and more.
  • Proficiency in Pure Bond, Socket Fusion, and Butt Welding techniques.
  • Experience working in a clean room environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to work both in-house and on-site with customers.
  • Skill in using manual mills and lathes, as well as making threads on pipes and round rods.
  • Capability to adapt and work safely in hazardous environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Driver’s license required.
  • Proficiency in using various hand tools such as scrapers, knives, calipers, and more.
  • Experience with electric tools like welding guns, drills, routers, and saws.
  • Skill in using measuring tools including calipers, depth gauges, micrometers, and more.

Work Environment

Work in a plastic manufacturing environment that is ISO certified. The facility may have some noise and plastic chips, and compliance with safety practices is essential. Safety glasses and hearing protection are recommended in certain areas. The role requires standing at a workstation for designated shifts and the ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. Presenting a professional image in accordance with company standards is expected.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00/hr.
