Job Description

Join our team as a Shipper & Receiver, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient processing of customer orders. You will handle materials, utilize computer systems, and contribute to a well-organized warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Transact customer orders using both carrier and ERP systems.
• Provide quality control inspections within the workflow.
• Package and tape international shipments in multi-pack cartons for export.
• Affix shipping labels on packed cartons.
• Take an accurate inventory count at the end of each day.
• Serve as a back-up order picker as needed.
• Assemble cardboard cartons for large, multipack shipments.
• Move prepared shipments from the shipping cart to the dock door as needed.
• Call and/or email forwarding companies to arrange pick-up.
• Consign shipments to forwarders and ensure correct consignments by checking documents.
• Maintain good communication and rapport with co-workers.
• Ensure the shipping area is kept organized and neat.
• Keep the supervisor informed of issues on the shipping floor.

Essential Skills

• Material handling experience.
• Computer literacy.
• General warehouse experience.
• Proficiency in shipping and receiving using UPS/FedEx.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new software/applications.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in international shipping/receiving is advantageous.
• Ability to get forklift certified if not currently certified.

Work Environment

Work in a modern distribution center featuring racks similar to those in a Costco, using material handling equipment to stage orders for shipment. The position is based at our Hunziker and Cascade locations, with day and swing shifts available.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
