Job Title: Mill Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Swing Shift CNC Mill Set-up Technician to join our team. This role requires working from 3pm to 11:30pm, focusing on precision CNC machining to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in CNC mill machining, particularly at an intermediate to journeyman level, and be adaptable to established processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform short run, precision CNC machining and manage 1st runs.
- Set up and operate CNC machining centers to fabricate precision machined parts.
- Specialize in setting up mill turn sub spindle live tooling lathes independently.
- Collaborate closely with programming and manufacturing managers for cycle time reduction and machine optimization.
- Provide guidance and instruction to other machine operators and machinists.
- Contribute to CNC programming and machining center operations using CAD and CAM software.
- Ensure efficient production, on-time delivery, and product quality meets customer specifications.
Essential Skills
- Intermediate to journeyman level CNC mill machining experience.
- Ability to set up and operate CNC machining equipment.
- Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting CAD drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Experience with vertical and horizontal milling, turning centers, and multi-axis machines.
- Strong sense of urgency and process orientation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with 5-axis CNC mills.
- Knowledge of Mastercam and Renishaw probe systems.
- Experience with Mazak CNCs is a plus.
- Willing to consider candidates with 4-axis experience.

Work Environment
Work in a clean machining facility equipped with over 10 CNCs, with two more currently being built. The facility includes a clean room and QC area, promoting a collaborative environment. Day shift currently includes five programmers and machinists.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of TUALATIN, OR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
