Job Description

As a Packaging Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient monitoring and operation of downstream packaging and related capping and casing equipment. Your responsibilities will include maintaining quality standards, performing periodic package and case integrity tests, and executing proper set-up and changeovers of equipment and supplies. Additionally, you will perform rework and sanitation duties as needed and ensure the efficient operation of automated systems, troubleshooting any issues using a computer touch screen.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate downstream packaging and related capping and casing equipment.
• Ensure quality standards by performing periodic package and case integrity tests.
• Execute proper set-up and changeovers of equipment and supplies.
• Perform rework and sanitation duties as required.
• Operate automated systems efficiently and troubleshoot using a computer touch screen.

Essential Skills

• Proven attention to detail.
• Ability to read and comprehend English work instructions.
• Capability to work 12-hour shifts while standing for the entire duration.
• Production experience, particularly in packaging and warehouse environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Packaging experience, preferably from a food manufacturing experience
• Strong general production, assembly, and labeling skills.
• Experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).

This position offers a unique opportunity with a financial incentive—a $1,000 bonus for every month of employment until the plant shutdown in July 2026. This means that if you start by 7/1/25 and work until 7/31/26, you could receive a lump sum bonus of $12,000. Work Environment

This role is situated in a fast-paced food production environment where you will monitor the packaging line and products emerging from the packaging machine. Be prepared for strong odors and the physical requirement of standing for 12 or more hours per shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, OR.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
