Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician
Location: Allentown, PA
Shifts Available:
- 2nd Shift: 3:15 PM – 11:15 PM
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Pay: Competitive base pay + $2/hour for PAPR/Refrigerator work and $3/hour for Freezer work
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician to join our team in Allentown. This role is critical in ensuring the highest quality standards for pharmaceutical products through precise assembly, packaging, and labeling processes in a cleanroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and customer requirements in all tasks.
- Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a safe, efficient work environment.
- Perform manual or automated assembly, filling, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceutical products.
- Conduct in-process inspections, including AQL checks, and accept or reject clinical supplies and drug products.
- Complete computer-related tasks for job sign-in, data entry, and in-process actions.
- Participate in start-up and closure of packaging jobs.
- Clean packaging rooms and machinery per SOPs and GMP standards.
- Perform accurate component and product counts.
- Interpret 2D diagrams and batch paperwork to ensure proper assembly.
- Work independently or collaboratively to meet production goals.
Requirements
- Strong hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with both hands.
- Working mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages).
- Ability to read, comprehend, and execute English work documents (SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures).
- Physical ability to:
- Stand continuously
- Lift/carry up to 50 lbs
- Bend, squat, and reach above shoulder level
- Comfortable working in Primary, Secondary, Refrigerated (2–8°C), and Frozen (-20°C) environments (up to 80% of the day in a freezer if needed).
- Ability to gown and work in a cleanroom environment (see video: Cleanroom Overview).
- PPE certification required (including filtering face masks, PAPR, N-95 masks, half-face masks, safety glasses).

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Allentown, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.70 - $19.55/hr.
