Shipping and Receiving Material Handler
Job Description
As a Shipping and Receiving Material Handler, you will be responsible for verifying and maintaining records of outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment. Your role involves comparing identifying information, counting, weighing, or measuring items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. You will also affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencil identifying shipping information on cartons, assemble containers, and ensure outgoing shipments meet specifications.
Responsibilities
- Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments.
- Prepare items for shipment by comparing identifying information and counts against records.
- Affix shipping labels and stencil identifying information on cartons.
- Assemble and select appropriate containers for shipping.
- Insert items into containers and secure them with metal tape or nails.
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications.
- Use hand trucks to move shipments to the appropriate area.
- Drive a box rental truck with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years of driving experience.
- 2+ years of shipping and receiving experience.
- Experience with inventory tracking and/or stocking.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in material handling, driving, forklift operation, assembly, inventory control, loading, and unloading.
- Experience with box truck operations.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
