Aerotek is hiring a Direct Hire for a Service Technician!
Job Description
This role is not a standard Monday-Friday position. You will be one of four service technicians on the team, responding promptly to customer calls, whether close to the shop in Coraopolis or in locations such as California. The role involves assembling, repairing, and servicing proprietary equipment.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites as needed, ensuring prompt service delivery.
- Assemble, disassemble, and service large drilling and foundation piling equipment, including hydraulic cylinders, diesel engines, transmissions, and other components.
- Perform machining and fabrication of steel components using various tools.
- Conduct thorough diagnostic testing to identify mechanical system problems.
- Write detailed service reports and manage parts order requisitions.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and heavy construction machinery.
- Complete repairs and preventive maintenance on drilling and pile driving equipment efficiently.
- Safely assemble and disassemble rental fleet equipment for inspections and repairs.
- Perform minor repairs on-site as needed.
- Notify the Service Manager of any suspected customer damage.
- Complete quality control service tags for rental equipment inspections.
Essential Skills
- 3-5 years of experience working on heavy equipment as a mechanic.
- Proficient in mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience with construction equipment, mechanical, electrical systems, hydraulics, electronics, CAN-bus wiring, power trains, and diesel engines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Extensive training provided, including potential travel to Texas or Germany.
- Must have all personal tools; specialty tools will be provided.
- Experience with companies like Caterpillar is desirable.

Work Environment
When not traveling, report to the shop Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 3:30 pm. Travel occurs during the week, with weekends at home. The workweek ranges from 40-80 hours. Dress code is casual, suitable for working with heavy-duty equipment. The environment is dynamic, involving both in-shop and on-site work with access to advanced proprietary equipment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Coraopolis, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
