Lab Technician

Job Description

• Develop and perform tests for water and wastewater treatment operations.
• Conduct jar tests to determine and optimize chemical dosing.
• Evaluate bench and pilot scale operations.
• Perform columns and batch testing for ion exchange resins, carbon adsorption, and filtration systems.
• Collect and record data by measuring operating conditions such as pumping rates, pH, ORP, temperature, and pressure.
• Operate and perform light maintenance on small-scale equipment like pumps, heaters, and mixers.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in laboratory, chemistry, and wet chemistry.
• Ability to work precisely in solution making, measuring devices, data handling, and instrument operation.
• Proficiency with standard laboratory instruments such as pH meters, TSS probes, HACH spectrophotometer, analytical balances, and volumetric glassware.
• BS in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or related field.
• Experience in titration, reverse osmosis, quality control, and quality assurance.
• Work precisely in solution making, with measuring devices, data handling, and instrument operation
• Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn and grow in responsibility on the job
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Communicate with team members and receive precise chemical data and procedures.

• Proficiency with standard laboratory instruments such as pH, TSS, use of probes for measuring process variables, use of HACH spectrophotometer, use of analytical balances, and volumetric glassware
• Detail oriented
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
