Job Description
The Transactions Specialist role is essential in managing financial transactions, engaging with donors and non-profit organizations, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. This cross-departmental position requires flexibility and a commitment to facilitating donor requests through collaboration with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Complete routine data entry for financial transactions such as contributions, grants, and exchanges.
- Maintain an understanding of VC and IRS-approved charitable donation policies and practices.
- Apply a general knowledge of assigned transactions upon successful completion of training.
- Support and sort inbound and outbound mail procedures.
- Facilitate transactional processes related to the delivery of grants, both via check and electronically.
- Respond to inbound calls and emails from clients and charities.
- Achieve and maintain a high level of accuracy with functional skills, desktop applications, and workplace equipment.
- Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of VC’s policies and guidelines.
- Possess a high level of professionalism and customer service.
- Provide back-up and support to team members as needed.
- Support continuous improvement by providing feedback as applicable.
- Exercise the highest level of confidentiality and discretion with client and account information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or finance obtained since 2021.
- Internship experience or experience in a customer-facing setting such as hospitality, banking, collections, financial planning, loan processing, or B2B.
- Proficiency in accounting, customer support, and client service.
- Strong skills in Excel and business planning.
- Excellent customer service abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role within the financial or non-profit sector.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Work Environment
The work environment is hybrid, with onsite work required two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday). The team consists of 15 members and operates a 37.5-hour work week. During November and December, there may be increased business hours and overtime required. Candidates are expected to provide holiday and vacation requests prior to interviewing. The worksite is located at 45 Liberty Boulevard, Malvern, PA.
