Job Title: Forklift Operator and Material Handler

Job Description

This position is responsible for maintaining a safe work area, ensuring efficient operation of bagging, stacking, and salt room tasks, and operating powered industrial forklifts to move products, equipment, or materials. The role involves working at various workstations as production demands.

Responsibilities

• Load or unload materials onto or off various types of shipping vehicles, including van trucks, flatbeds, pneumatic trucks, and dump trucks.
• Safely operate loading and unloading stations to support material transfer.
• Pull orders for shipment from shipping documentation and recheck loaded product accuracy using scanning equipment.
• Sign shipping documentation and submit it to the shipping/receiving group leader.
• Prepare and sign receiving reports, submitting them for inspection.
• Weigh materials or products and record weights on tags, labels, or production schedules.
• Restack products from damaged pallets and inventory materials, products, and bags in the yard or warehouse.
• Stock products in the yard according to company procedures and complete proper operating records.
• Observe all safety regulations and ensure good manufacturing practices are followed, maintaining associated records accurately.
• Ensure good product and packaging are loaded on trucks and maintain work areas in an orderly manner.
• Report all damage and spillage immediately and replace damaged bags as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Essential Skills

• Experience in general labor, production, inventory management, forklift operation, and shipping and receiving.
• Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a production packaging environment.
• Ability to operate safely and maintain good housekeeping.
• Experience in an industrial environment, with forklift operation preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior forklift use preferred.
• Experience in an industrial environment is advantageous.

Work Environment

The work environment requires overtime as necessary and compliance with safety measures such as wearing PPE, including hard hats, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hi-visibility apparel, and gloves. The facility features varying temperatures, humidity levels, noise, and dust. Tasks are performed around moving machinery and energized power cables, and the role involves sitting, standing, reaching, and moving about the facility regularly.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morrisville, PA.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Morrisville,PA.
