Job Description

We are seeking a Hardware Engineer to join our facility, focusing on electronic hardware circuit design for our Networking Products group. This role involves working on various digital systems, FPGA, and interface designs. You will engage in printed circuit board and FPGA design, power supply design, and development of test plans for design verification. You will also develop high-quality ruggedized embedded systems and high-speed interface designs meeting commercial and military standards.


Responsibilities

  • Work with internal and external customers to develop product requirements.
  • Engage in both board-level and FPGA-centric design activities.
  • Develop power supply solutions that comply with commercial and military standards.
  • Develop product architecture and select components to meet customer requirements.
  • Generate concise documentation, including product specifications, architecture overviews, schematics, and parts lists.
  • Test or coordinate the testing of products for compliance with product requirements.
  • Collaborate with production and test personnel to transition designs to manufacturing.
  • Assist in the generation of customer-facing documentation.
  • Provide engineering support for fielded products.

Essential Skills

  • BS in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Over 5 years of electronic hardware design experience.
  • Knowledge of high-speed digital design techniques.
  • Proficient using schematic capture tools for PCB design.
  • Experience with Xilinx and/or Intel/Altera FPGA development tools.
  • Proficient in VHDL and/or Verilog for FPGA development.
  • Experience using signal integrity simulation tools.
  • Proficient in EMI/EMC design and mitigation techniques.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a larger design team.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and leadership skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in embedded system design.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools and electronic hardware design.
  • Knowledge of flight test instrumentation and sensor integration.

Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid work environment with three days a week in the office. There is flexibility for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. The focus is on flight test instrumentation, working with recorders designed to operate alongside acquisition products and various sensors. The role involves working on projects for both commercial aircraft manufacturers and military data recording during weapon tests or deployments.
