3D Geospatial Software Engineering Manager!!
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead a distributed team of software developers across multiple regions, including the East Coast, West Coast, France, and Australia. The focus of this role is on people management, fostering a collaborative and open culture, and ensuring the successful development and maintenance of our platform's 3D capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of engineers responsible for the Platform’s 3D Runtimes & Pipelines development team.
 - Oversee the development team responsible for the native 3D capabilities of the platform, including the development and maintenance of 3D tiling pipelines and plugins for game engines like Unreal and Unity.
 - Work directly with the Head of Engineering to support overall professional growth, including recruiting, training, mentoring, and performance management of the team.
 - Collaborate closely with the Division Chief Technology Officer (DCTO) to execute robust and scalable architecture.
 - Facilitate a culture of openness and collaboration both internally within teams and externally with the open-source community.
 - Collaborate cross-functionally, especially with Product Management, to execute the roadmap.
 - Run systems and processes to continuously ship high-quality software while transparently engaging all stakeholders.
 
Essential Skills
- 10+ years of experience in software development with significant experience in managing distributed teams.
 - Leadership experience in developing successful APIs, libraries, platforms, and/or specifications for software developers.
 - Exceptional communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.
 - High degree of emotional intelligence and transparency.
 - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
 
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of geospatial, AECO, and/or computer graphics is preferred.
 - Experience with 3D development and 3D graphics is a bonus.
 - Familiarity with platforms like 3D Tiles, glTF, and game engines such as Unreal and Unity.
 - Purpose-based global travel may be about 25%.
 
Work Environment
